15 minute Walking Workout for Seniors, Beginners

#walking #walkingforseniors #walkingforbeginners

This 15-minute indoor walking workout will help improve your cardiovascular health by getting your heart rate up and increasing strength with exercises that work your legs, glutes, core and upper body. This workout is about 1800 steps. Perfect for seniors and beginner exercisers.

Marching or walking in place is the foundation for the workout. The 30-second rounds will also work on your balance and coordination, which is important to prevent falls, the leading cause of non-fatal and fatal injuries among seniors.

This workout includes a warm up and cooldown. If you would like an additional warm up, try one of our warm up videos:

After the workout, you can do an additional cooldown session to get your heart rate back to normal and stretch out your muscles: https://youtu.be/TUz3C0ihuXQ

  1. Thank you so much for your help. I was frail and always tired in my mid 30s and this was due to sedentary lifestyle and never working out. I’m not obese. I just never exercise at all and it has taken a toll on my stamina and fitness. I also fainted often in the end. It was time to do something.

I wanted to remedy that by working out but some trainers are really harsh on the cardio and I needed to start slow at first before going further and more intense. Your 10 minutes indoors workout helped me with the first step over a week. I did that one daily once a day after breakfast. Then twice a day with the same video, upping the time to 20 minutes separately, one after breakfast and one after lunch. And now, after two weeks, I am on my third week, and I started this video. A little more intense, of course, but I think I wouldn’t have managed it before starting slow.

I will stick to that video until week 4, where I will up the time to a full 20 minutes nonstop this time. I want to be in better shape by the end of the year. That’s my 2025 resolution.

    Thank goodness for your channel.

  4. Thank you for this video. I was using the β€œBetter Me” app to do my daily exercise, but I could no longer afford to pay the fee. By the way, I am 62 years old and this is just the speed that I need.

  7. I like that I can bring you everywhere I go.I not only told my friends and ex co workers about you , my son and husband prefers your workouts for me. They and I are in the medical fields .Love these workouts especially after retiring. I was told by my doctor , my husband and my son that I am an over achiever ( one of my many faults) so I do 4 of 15 min workouts or 30 min 2x a day if I have energy. I enjoy exercising not just for my body but also elevates my moods. Thank you so much!
