As a former employee, always keep the receipt in the shoebox. If you don’t have the receipt we have to run it through our manager and most times it’s unlikely you’ll get a refund but maybe store credit. You can do it online too, just a longer process.
I did this with the air ups back in the day twice was sent a brand new pair each time …. Not sure if this still works that was back in the 90s but there is truth in what he is saying
